🎓 Two new associate professors join Aix-Marseille Université's Faculty of Medical and Paramedical Sciences!
The French Ministry of Higher Education and Research has appointed Dr. Jonathan Chelly, intensive care physician, and Dr Manuel Dias Alves, psychiatrist, as territory associate professors within the medical community of the Centre Hospitalier Intercommunal Toulon - La Seyne-sur-Mer (CHITS).
These appointments - which bring the number of associate professors at CHITS to three - salute the commitment of these professionals and medical teams to clinical activity, research and innovation in the service of patients.
This dynamic development is in keeping with the solid partnership between CHITS and the FSMPM. Together, these institutions are working towards the gradual academicization of the region, bringing together higher education, research and care for the benefit of patients.
💡 Already initiated in 2022 with the appointment of Pr Nadège Bourvis in child psychiatry, this collaboration today takes another major step forward. CHITS becomes the only non-university hospital in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region to have embarked on a structured process of academicization of its medical specialties.
Already welcoming nearly 200 interns each year, CHITS will thus strengthen its intake capacity and its attractiveness to future doctors, particularly in strategic specialties.
These positions, initially financed by CHITS, will contribute to the deployment of an ambitious research and teaching policy, while affirming the strong regional roots of the Centre Hospitalier.with these appointments, the CHITS and the FSMPM are reaffirming a shared ambition: to make the Var region a center of excellence in hospital and university teaching, serving patients, students and medical innovation.
